PROPOSAL FOR PROGRAM
Day 1: Holiday idyll and sand sculptures
From Aarhus to Søndervig - 150 km
The trip starts in the city of smiles, Aarhus, where the rooftop is ready for collection and installation in the afternoon. From here, the drive goes across the Jutland ridge towards West Jutland. Take a detour off the highway and enjoy stretching your legs in the expansive, heather-clad moorland landscape. At the end of the day you arrive at the resort town of Søndervig, which is beautifully situated on the coast - with the rolling North Sea on one side, and the soft, shiny fjord on the other. Søndervig forms the setting for the impressive sand sculpture festival, where it is almost like stepping into a magical desert adventure (for a fee, admission approx. DKK 60). Also take a walk in the city and soak up the relaxed holiday atmosphere. When the appetite calls, you can visit one of the local restaurants for a dinner. Find the perfect spot in the dunes and enjoy the golden glow of the sunset over the sea before relaxing in the rooftop with the soothing sound of the sea as accompaniment.
Accommodation in rooftop.
Day 2: Bunkers, swimming and beach surfing
From Søndervig to Rømø - 150 km
Start the day with an early morning walk along the beach, while the day dawns and casts a lazy glow over the coast’s numerous bunkers. The piles lie like abandoned, mastodontic ghosts, each telling a fascinating and gruesome story of World War II. After a walk in the North Sea's fresh morning breeze, it's time to head south, where you can either visit Denmark's westernmost point, Blåvand, or the award - winning, historic Tirpitz Museum, located like a huge, underground bunker hidden by the dunes (entrance to the museum about 145 kr.). Drive past Esbjerg's famous, white statues "Man by the Sea" by Svend Wiig Hansen. In the early afternoon, you reach the Wadden Sea National Park, which adorns the UNESCO World Heritage Site, and here you have the opportunity to explore the area's special nature. If you want to learn more about the unique nature, a visit to the Wadden Sea Center is recommended (for a fee, entrance fee approx. DKK 120). Continue the trip to Rømø, which is located in the middle of the Wadden Sea National Park. On Rømø you can look forward to lots of buzz in the stomach and wind in the sails with beach surfing! Rømø's extensive beaches are among Europe's best for beach surfing, and therefore beach surfing is of course included on your trip! Then go to the beautiful Lakolk Beach, where you can drive all the way down to the beach edge in your car. Eat your dinner with the breathtaking coastal scenery as a backdrop and enjoy the sunset.
Accommodation in rooftop.
Day 3: Scenic hike or wellness
From Rømø to Aarhus - 210 km
The last day of the mini-holiday has arrived, and today it's time to really experience nature up close. The day therefore starts with a scenic hike. The 8-10 kilometer long route takes you from Sønderstrand to Lakolk Strand, and on the trip you come through the island's characteristic deserted dune landscapes, over rippling streams, past mussel banks. And all the way you can enjoy the gentle nature and the beautiful views. The route ends at Lakolk Strand, where you can round off the trip with an ice cream from one of Denmark's very best ice houses. Are you more into relaxation and self-indulgence for the all-important gold medal? Then you can visit the delicious wellness department at Enjoy Resorts Rømø. If you have children with you, you can also use the water park at Enjoy Resorts Rømø or visit Skærbæk Swimming Hall. Here you can digest the experiences of the trip while you recharge with wonderful and renewed energy in the thermal baths or maybe treat yourself a little extra with one of the many delicious treatments. Then a wonderful and luxurious sentence has been set for the trip, which ensures increased profits when everyday life knocks again (for a fee, entrance to wellness from approx. DKK 250 / entrance to swimming pool DKK 54). The last stretch is covered, completely fit in body and soul, whether you choose the scenic hiking route or a trip to the spa. Rooftop and equipment are returned in Aarhus.
Very nice trip!
