Day 2: Arrival and sightseeing in Oslo

From Oslo to Geilo - 240 km

You arrive by ferry to Oslo early in the morning. This means that you have plenty of time to explore the Norwegian capital. For example, take a good walk through the magnificent Vigeland Sculpture Park, which stands beautifully with flowering beds, green lawns and artful sculptures. Stroll up the famous Carl Johans Gate to the Royal Palace. See the futuristic opera house by the water, or enjoy a cup of coffee on the cozy harbor promenade. Visit the terrifying ski jumping hill Holmenkollen, or feel the history at the Akershus Fortress. Whatever you have of favorite sights on the wish list, yes, Oslo welcomes you to an eventful day.

After a lovely day in Oslo, it's time to drive further north to Geilo, where it is staying overnight in scenic and mountainous surroundings. We recommend that you take the beautiful route via the Hardangervidda to Geilo.

Day 3: Outdoor activities, reindeer and waterfalls

From Geilo to Eidfjord - 100 km

Today you stand up to a day where you can choose from lots of cool active experiences in Geilo's magnificent nature. Geilo is known for offering some of Europe's best outdoor experiences, both for beginners and experienced. How about a scenic bike ride or a ride on challenging mountain bike tracks? Maybe you want to try your hand at adrenaline-pumping white water rafting, challenge yourself with canyoning or climb down Norway's longest zipline? Do you prefer a slower pace instead? Then the hiking boots for hiking in the nearby Hallingskarvet National Park. In Geilo, there are almost unimaginable opportunities to be active in nature, so you can freely choose your favorite activities - for example in Dagali Fjellpark (the activities, with the exception of hiking, are for a fee with the local provider).

After a wonderful day in Geilo, the trip now goes via the Pass road towards Norway's largest national park, Hardangervidda National Park. In the national park, you will experience Northern Europe's largest mountain plateau, which is shaped by ice age glaciers, so that the landscape waves away in the company of bare mountains, shiny lakes and towering moraine walls. Enjoy the historic wilderness and keep an eye out for reindeer, because here Europe's largest population of wild reindeer lives on no less than approx. 40,000 animals. Head in the direction of Eidfjord, which cuts beautifully into the rugged landscape of the national park. Take an evening trip here to the rushing and dramatic Vøringsfossen, which is one of Norway's most beautiful waterfalls with an impressive fall of 182 meters. You can either walk the short route of approx. 1.5 hours or the long route of approx. 2.5 hours.

Accommodation in a rooftop by Eidfjord.

Day 4: Sublime hike in Norway's largest national park
From Eidfjord to Ullensvang - 50 km

Stand up to scenic surroundings and views of an incomparable adventure along majestic mountains and breathtakingly beautiful fjords. From Eidfjord, the trip continues towards Hardangerfjord, which is Norway's second longest fjord. Get to know more about the fascinating Norwegian nature and climate at Hardangervidda Natursenter (entrance fee, approx. 160 NOK), or experience nature on your own on one of the many scenic hiking routes in Hardangervidda National Park. Here there are routes for all levels. You can, for example, take an easy and short walk along Frugtstien by Lofthus, or Husedalen, which is also a relatively easy route - with four waterfalls along the way. If you want to challenge yourself a little more, you can choose the Monk Stairs at Lofthus. If you want a more demanding all-day hike, throw yourself over Queen Sonja's Panorama Route, which takes you along one of Hardanger's most beautiful hiking trails.

If you want to challenge yourself with one of Norway's most iconic hikes, choose Trolltunga, which is long, difficult and demanding, but worth it all, once you reach the world-famous cliff spring. You can also combine mountain biking, hiking and climbing on Trolltunga Via Ferrata in the company of a guide who will take you on the ultimate trip through the sublime landscape with a nerve-wracking and unforgettable adrenaline kick. Via the Ferrata tour is for a fee (prices from 1,550 NOK including guide and rental of equipment), requires good physical shape and is not recommended for people with fear of heights, bad knees or difficulty walking.
At the end of the day you drive towards Ullensvang, where the day ends with accommodation for a well-deserved relaxing hotel stay.

Accommodation in a 3-star hotel incl. half board.

Day 5: Glacier hike and twin waterfalls
From Ullensvang to Sand - 140 km

After a good night's sleep, it's time to head towards Folgefonna National Park, which forms the framework of no less than three glaciers. The glaciers lie like huge, lead-heavy duvets across the landscape, and the view is amazing! A rock-solid point on your bucket list, which you luckily get the opportunity to wing off today.
You can experience the glacier plateau in one of two ways. Either you can go for a walk on the Baurbreen Glacier on your own, it requires no equipment other than a pair of comfortable hiking shoes and warm clothes. Or you can take a guided tour of the Juklavass Glacier. The trips vary from easy hiking routes to more demanding and extreme routes with ice axes and spiked ice boots, eg the famous Blue Ice Hike (for a fee, approx. 990 NOK incl. Guide, equipment etc.).
After a memorable visit to the Folgefonna glaciers, the trip continues along the R13 and directly past the twin waterfall Låtefossen. The waterfall plunges rushing and foaming down from the tops of the mountains and is picturesquely framed by the picturesque stone bridge over the troubled water.

Accommodation in a rooftop near Sand in Rogaland.

Day 6: Norwegian idyll and salmon migration
From Sand to Jørpeland - 95 km

This day offers wonderful relaxation in the cozy, small town of Sand, which with its white houses is beautifully located next to one of Norway's many deep blue fjords. Here you can stroll through the Høsebrua bridge or take a dip in the lake. From mid-June to the end of September, you can also visit Norway's first salmon studio (entrance fee, approx. 40 NOK). Here, via underwater windows, you have the first parquet to the river, where the salmon jump on their way towards their spawning ground. The area also offers the opportunity to fish or participate in a salmon safari, where you snorkel down the river to the fish (for a fee, approx. 850 NOK). When snorkeling, wetsuits are handed out. At the end of the day, the trip heads south towards Jørpeland. Along the way, you have ample opportunity to find your favorite spot in the magnificent Norwegian landscape for a stop for the night.

Accommodation in rooftop.

Day 7: At the top of the pulpit
From Jørpeland to Stavanger - 60 km

Today we climb the Pulpit Rock, which is one of Norway's ultimate must-see attractions.
And it is not without reason. Because with the hiking boots laced up, the trip goes towards the heights through wooded mountains with formidable views. Finally you reach the famous, flat plateau at the top, where the cliff abruptly falls over 600 meters towards the fjord's royal blue water mirror. And from here the panoramic view spreads over the towering mountains and the meandering Lysefjord. The trip can be completed without a guide and in normal physical shape. It takes about 4-5 hours. Bring a small packed lunch and enjoy your lunch with the most beautiful view of the trip. The heights of the pulpit give a suck in the stomach - and the rock has also set the stage for none other than both Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible and James Bond. (The trip is free, but parking at the starting point costs about 250 DKK).

If you leave early this day, you can end the day with a visit to the idyllic city of Stavanger, known for its cobbled streets and picturesque wooden houses.
In the evening, it's time to board the Fjordline ferry, which docks in Stavanger and which sails you back to Denmark with arrival in Hirtshals.

Accommodation in interior cabin on ferry.

Day 8 : Return to Denmark

From Stavanger to Hirtshals to Aarhus - 185 km

After a good night's sleep at sea, you arrive in the morning at Hirtshals. Then the drive goes to Aarhus, where the rooftop and equipment are handed over. An unforgettable trip in southern Norway is at the end of the road, but with you home you have memories of Norway's majestic landscapes, meandering fjords, incomparable glaciers, wildlife, sublime outdoor experiences and picturesque cities.

Very nice trip!
